Joan Barry

The actress Joan Barry began her career at the theater in 1918 with a small role in the play "Luck of the Navy", at the beginning of the 20's she made her film debut with "The Card" (22), "The Happy Ending" (25) and "Atlantic" (29), the English version of director Ewald André Dupont.
In 1929 she dubbed Anny Ondra in Alfred Hitchcock's "Blackmail" (29) and became with it the first dubbing artist of the British film.
Her last cinematical works came in the 30's into being, to these movies belong "The Outsider" (31), "Alfred Hitchcock's "Rich and Strange" (31), "Sally Bishop" (32) and "Rome Express" (32) with Conrad Veidt.
Finally she retired from her acting career, got married and devoted her family.
