. The actress Dorrit Weixler belonged to the most popular movie actresses of the 10's - often in movies directed by Franz Hofer - but today she is more or less fallen into oblivion today. She made her film debut with "Seine erste Liebe" (11) and in the next years followed productions like "Fräulein Chef" (12), "Das rosa Pantoffelchen" (13), "Der unsichtbare Zeuge" (14) and "Fräulein Piccolo" (14). Within no time Dorrit Weixler became so popular that her name was a crowd-puller and the movie title oriented by her name. To her big successes belong "Aschenbrödelchen" (15), "Dorrits Chauffeur" (15), "Dorrits Eheglück" (16) and "Maria" (16). During a theater performance in 1916 it became visible for the first time for the public that Dorrit Weixler had problems in her privat life when she collapsed on stage. Her addiction to morphine brought her in a sanatory. At the heigt of her career she hang herself in the sanatory at the age of 24. Her sister was the actress Grete Weixler.
