The actor Hans Peter Peterhans was able to launch a film career as a child actor in the silent movie era of the 20s. He also appeared several time in front of the camera together with his father Josef Peterhans.

He impersonated his first movie role as the son of Wilhelm Tell in "Wilhelm Tell" (23) with numerous movie stars like Hans Marr, Conrad Veidt, Erich Kaiser-Titz, Fritz Kampers, Hermann Vallentin, Josef Peterhans, Erna Morena, Käthe Haack, Max Gülstorff and Otto Gebühr.

It followed several movies like "Deutsche Helden in schwerer Zeit" (24) with Walter Steinbeck, Leopold von Ledebur, Hansi Arnstaedt and Karl Platen, "Der Rächer von Davos" (24) with Eric Barclay, Angelo Ferrari and Elena Lunda, Rudolf Walther-Fein's "Der kleine Herzog" (24) as little earl Peter at the side of Paul Biensfeldt, Maria Fein, Olga Limburg, Hermann Picha and Eduard von Winterstein, playing the role of Enzio in "Zur Chronik von Grieshuus" (25) with Arthur Kraussneck, Paul Hartmann, Rudolf Forster, Gertrude Welcker, Lil Dagover and Hermann Leffler and as a goatherd in "Der Wilderer" (26) with Heinrich Schroth, Carl de Vogt, Rudolf Biebrach, Helga Thomas and Max Maximilian.

After a longer interruption Hans Peter Peterhans took part in his only sound film "Theodor Körner" (32) directed by Carl Boese. In this movie he played the role of von Humboldt at the side of Willy Domgraf-Fassbaender, Dorothea Wieck, Lissy Arna, Ludwig Trautmann and Ferdinand von Alten.
