. After completing his schooling, director and screenwriter Max Kimmich attended cadet school and served as a career officer during World War I. After the war ended, he began studying medicine, but ultimately gained a foothold in the film business in 1920. He initially worked as a dramaturge and was production manager at Rochus-Gliese-Film AG from 1922 to 1926. He finally moved to the USA in 1926 and made his first films as a director and screenwriter for Universal Pictures Corporation. These included directing works such as “The Tale of a Shirt” (27), “Swell Clothes” (27), and “The Tricky Trickster” (28). He also wrote the screenplays for all three films. He returned to Europe in 1929 and wrote the screenplays for “Kennst Du das kleine Haus am Michigansee” (29), “Under False Flag” (1932), “The Invisible Front” (1933), “Spies at Work” (1933), “The Fugitive from Chicago” (1934), ‘Artists’ (1935), “Executioners, Women and Soldiers” (1925), “The Fourth Won't Come” (39), “My Life for Ireland” (41), and “Germanin” (43). He also reappeared as a director with “The Fourth Won't Come” (39), “The Fox of Glenarvon” (40), “My Life for Ireland” (41), and “Germanin” (43). Max Kimmich was married to Maria Goebbels, the daughter of Joseph Goebbels. After the war, he lived with his wife, daughter, and mother-in-law in Icking under the false name Biebisch until 1946. They were subsequently interrogated by the Americans, who determined that they had never been members of the NSDAP. In the post-war years, Max Kimmich worked for radio and published several books as an author.
