The actor and cabaret artist Fritz Heller began his stage career as a teenager with the children's theater group Duschinsky.
In later years, engagements followed in smaller towns such as Landshut and Offenburg, before he became a regular in Vienna. There he appeared at the Raimundtheater, the Wiener Kammerspiele, the Neue Wiener Operettentheater and the Theater an der Wien, among others.

He also appeared occasionally in movies at this time, among them "Franz Lehar" (29) and "Die Tochter des Regiments" (33).

His career ended abruptly in 1938 when he was deported to the Dachau concentration camp because of his Jewish descent. Fortunately, his wife was able to buy him out of the camp and they left Germany via Trieste for Shanghai.
There Fritz Heller was able to continue his stage career.

After the war he returned to Europe and he was active again at the theater as well as at the cabaret Simpl but also increasingly in the film business where he impersonated numerous supporting roles.
His film works include "Hin und her" (48), "Der alte Sünder" (51), "Der Feldherrnhügel" (53), "Das Schloss in Tirol" (57), "Mikosch im Geheimdienst" (58) and "Die Halbzarte" (59).

In the 60's he made his last movies with "Der brave Soldat Schwejk" (60), "Im weissen Rössl" (60), "Eduard III" (61) and "Maskenball bei Scotland Yard" (64).
