| Magda Garden
1895 - ca. 1943 |
.
. The actress Magda Garden began her career in the early 1910s in the theater, where she performed in Austria, Germany, and Czechoslovakia. At times, she also used the first name Mascha. In film, she appeared on camera only once, in “Der Herr des Mondes/Die Welt in Gefahr” (1922) with Hermann Benke and Maria Mindzenty, directed by Alfred Deutsch-German. She married the theater director Rudolf Zeisel, with whom she also collaborated professionally. With the rise of the Nazis, the couple moved to Prague. In 1943, Magda Garden was deported to the Theresienstadt concentration camp; two months later, she was transported to Auschwitz, where she was presumably murdered later that same year. |
