. The actress Syma Delmar was born Sima Zinman in Dvinsk. She spent her early years in Russia before her family left the country and settled in Berlin. There, she began her film career in 1921 and played several roles in films directed by Richard Eichberg. Later, she also appeared in films by Arthur Teuber and Manfred Noa. Her silent films from the 1920s include “Memoirs of a Valet” (21), “The Novel of a Poor Sinner” (22), “The Usurer’s Daughter” (22), and “Her Highness the Dancer” (23). Her film career ended abruptly when she died at St. Hedwig Hospital at the age of only 26.
