The actress Sybil Arundale was born as Sybil Kelly.

She began her stage career at the age of 11 at her sister Grace's side with the play "The Sisters Arundale". This was the beginning of a long-standing career.

When she acted in the play "A Midsummer Night's Dream" in 1898 shge also became established as a dramatic actress. Although she hardly impersonated leading roles she became very popular in bigger support roles. To her other well-known stage productions belong "The Wild Duck", "The Cingalee" (04) and George Grosssmith's "Venus" (06). During the next 30 years she got engagements on British stages regularly.

In 1917 she made her film debut with "Tom Jones", it followed the silent movies "God and the Man" (18) and "The Chinese Puzzle" (19).

In the talkies of the 30's she took part in "Loose Ends" (30) and "Girls Please!" (34).
She had her last cinematical appearance in the TV serial "The Scarlet Pimpernel: The Christmas Present" (56).
