Der Schauspieler Ferdinand Gottschalk war speziell in den 30er Jahren
ein begehrter Nebendarsteller, entsprechend umfangreich ist die Anzahl
an Filmen, in denen er mitgewirkt hatte.
Vom Theater kommend begann er seine Filmlaufbahn bereits zur Stummfilmzeit,
zu seinen ersten Filmen gehören "Please Help Emily" (17) und "My Wife"
(18).
In den 20er Jahren folgte nur ein weiterer Film mit "Zaza" (23).
Mit dem Aufkommen des Tonfilms nahmen die Engagements vor der Kamera
rasant zu und er verkörperte unzählige kleinere Rollen.
Zu seinen bekanntesten Filmen dieser Jahre zählen "Grand Hotel"
