Ernst Tautenhayn

The actor and singer Ernst Tautenhayn was a natural who was able to gain a foothold at the theater in 1893 although he did not get acting or singing lessons. He often was engaged as an operetta singer. 

He soon became a popular artist and he performed at numerous stages.

He made his film debut in 1917 with "Mir kommt keiner aus" (17) where he impersonated the role of Amadeus Wipfl. In the next year he took part in the movie "Wo die Lerche singt" (18).

His last cinematical works came in the 20s into being and he appeared in the silent movies "Töte sie!" (20) and "Dorala" (21).

Ernst Tautenhayn remained active as an artist till to his death. He was married with the singer Therese Schiner.
