The actor Paul Rainer was able to launch a brief but intensive film career in the silent movie era of the 10s.

He made his film debut with "Wege, die ins Dunkle führen" (16) and he impersonated numerous roles in the next years for movies like "Liebe und Leben, 3. Teil: Zwei Welten" (18), "Der Stolz der Familie" (18), "Solvey" (18), "Arno Starks Kraft" (18), "Die Dame mit der Spinne" (19), "Drei Dolche im Stein" (19), "Reichsgräfin Gisela" (19) and "Extra-Blatt!: Fred Horst ermordet!" (19).

His tentatively last movie came in 1920 in to being with "Das Gesicht im Spiegel" (20).

It lasted 25 years before Paul Rainer continued his film career and he made his comeback with "Monte Miracolo" (45). It followed few more appearances in front of the camera with "Die Millionen der Yvette" (56), "Mazurka der Liebe" (57) and an episode of the serial "Fernsehpitaval: Die Affäre Heyde-Sawade" (63).
