1916 - 1984
The actress Leny Marenbach began her stage career at the age of 16 at the Schauspielhaus Essen. Other engagements in Zurich, Vienna and Munich followed.
She made her film debut in 1935 with the movie "Jana, das Mädchen aus dem Böhmerwald" and alredy with her second movie "Wenn wir alle Engel wären" (36) she caught her breakthrough.In this movie she played at Heinz Rühmann's side and they formed a German dream couple for a short time. They also played together in the movies "Der Mustergatte" (37) and "Fünf Millionen suchen einen Erben" (38).
Leny Marenbach continued acting successfully in front of the camera till the end of war, so in "Irrtum des Herzens" (39), "Frau nach Mass" (40), "Friedemann Bach" (41) and "Das war mein Leben" (44).
After the war she played at the theater before she could appear in movies
again. But she wasn't able to go on from her earlier successes and she
only took part in few more movies like "Geheimakten Solvay" (52) and "Gesucht
wird Mörder X" (59).
