The actress Rose Liechtenstein (also Lichtenstein) began a stage career in Meiningen in 1909, later followed engagements in Düsseldorf and Berlin. She launched her film career from 1916 and took part in numerous movies in the next years.

To her first movies belong "Arme Eva Maria" (16), "Der eiserne Wille" (17), "Don Juans letztes Abenteuer" (18), "Die Japanerin" (19) and "Das Herz des Casanova" (19).

In the 20's she appeared again in many productions in front of the camera, whereas she also impersonated smaller roles sometimes. 
To her well-known movies of those years belong "Dämmernde Nächte" (20), "Moral" (20), "Wie das Mädchen aus der Ackerstrasse die Heimat fand" (21), "Die Tigerin" (22) and finally several movies directed by Fritz Lang with "Die Nibelungen, 2. Teil: Kriemhilds Rache" (22-24), "Metropolis" (27) and Lang's first sound film "M" (31) with a genial Peter Lorre in the leading role. 

Afterwards she dedicated again to the theater exclusively but only till 1933. With the upcoming National Socialists she had to leave Germany and went to Palästina. There she was able to start a second theater career and founded the Theatron Kameri. She died in Tel Aviv in 1955.
