The actress Frieda Lehndorff was born as Frieda Schöttle in Kaiserslautern. She got first acting lessons by Agnes Eppert and she made first stage experiences at the age of five. From 1892 she acted regularly on stages, among others in Darmstadt, Detmold, Bonn, Hanover and Stuttgart.
She went to Berlin in 1918 where she not only continued her stage career but also entered the filmbusiness. She impersonate first roles in the movies "Eva und der schwarze Ritter" (19) and "Die Ehe aus Hass" (19).
In the 20s followed numerous engagements in front of the camera but her film career remained limited to the silent movie era.
To her well-known works of those years belong "Betrogene Betrüger" (20), "Uriel Acosta" (20), "Das Medium" (21), "Frauen, die die Ehe brechen" (22), "Schiff in Not" (25), "Herbstmanöver" (26), "Das Erwachen des Weibes" (27) and "Almenrausch und Edelweiss" (28).
