He made his film debut already in 1918 with "Der lachende Tod", in the next years followed the movies "Der siebente Kuss" (18), "Das wandernde Auge" (19), "Lilli" (19), "Marionetten des Hasses" (19), "Das Nachttelegramm" (19), "Sinnesrausch" (19) and the horror movie "Totentanz" (19) with Sascha Guras and Werner Krauss.

In the 20's he took also part in the movie "Der Perlentaucher von Madrid" (21).

He also directed two movies called "Kord Kamphus, der Richter von Coesfeld" (19) and "Der Ruf aus dem Jenseits" (20).
