The actress and singer Louise Kartousch was a very successful soubrette during the heyday of the Vienna operetta. She impersonated many leading roles on stages and achieved a huge popularity.

She made her film debut already in 1908 with "Der fidele Bauer" (08). It followed other silent movies like "Johann Strauss an der schönen blauen Donau" (13) and "Wo die Lerche singt".

It followed a longer interruption before she continued her film career in the 30's. To her well-known productions of those years belong "Die Pompadour" (35), "Zauber der Boheme" (37), "13 Stühle" (38) and "Wen die Götter lieben" (42).

Rudolf Bach described the comedian duo as follow:
"Liesl is tender, good-natured, superior, always the normal opposite part, so to speak the Sancho Panso to Valentin-Don Quicotte".
The two played together for 25 years and produced about 400 comedies.

Other movies with Louise Kartousch:
Die glücklichste Ehe der Welt (37) Die unruhigen Mädchen (38) Finale (38) Das jüngste Gericht (40)
